Dan Uzan, 37, had served as a volunteer security guard
at the Copenhagen synagogue for 20 years.
In the early hours of the February 15th 2015, Dan was brutally gunned down while protecting 80 people at a Bat Mitzvah at the Great Synagogue in Copenhagen.
Dan was unarmed when he was murdered.
He was a man who embraced humanity, he was unprejudiced, courageous, and showed responsibility towards others.
Dan is an inspiration for all the men and women who regularly protect their Jewish communities across Europe and those who serve as volunteers in their communities.
His sacrifice will never be forgotten.
